Service to the Sector
Richard Taylor believes that those who work professionally within the nonprofit sector should actively volunteer for the organizations in which they have a keen interest. He currently serves on the boards of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church (St. Augustine), the Cyprian Center for Expressive Arts (St. Augustine) and the Planned Giving Council of Northeast Florida (Jacksonville); and is a member of the Finance Committee of the homeowners association representing his neighborhood community.
Previous volunteer service includes tenures as a board member for the alumni association of his undergraduate fraternity, the Alumni Career Advising Council of Otterbein University, the Advisory Committee of the Campaign for the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center in Worthington, Ohio; and committee service for the international office, the Florida Caucus and the Central Ohio and Florida First Coast Chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
In addition, Richard has served as an on-air reader for the visually impaired on three National Public Radio (NPR) affiliates, provided pro bono consulting services for various organizations, and served as a speaker for AFP Chapter and National Philanthropy Day events.
